Audrey

Hey, I'm Audrey, and I’m a university student in my second year of a biomedical degree at the University of Auckland. I am an enthusiastic, caring, and approachable university student with a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development. I have always loved teaching and enjoy helping young people discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop new skills.

Previously, I worked as a music teacher, teaching students of different ages and abilities. This experience taught me how to adapt my approach to suit different personalities, learning styles, and individual needs. I particularly enjoy creating a positive and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable being themselves and are motivated to learn. Seeing a student’s confidence grow and watching them achieve something they once found challenging is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. I believe patience, kindness, enthusiasm, and good communication are important when building positive relationships with children and families.

As a university student with a strong academic record, I also understand the importance of being responsible, organised, and committed to doing my best. Outside of work and study, I enjoy art, reading, and going for walks, which reflect my creative, curious, and active personality. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Helpful Hands Central team and support the meaningful work you do with children, students, and families. I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm, creativity, and love of teaching to every interaction and helping create positive experiences for the people I work with.
