Isobella
My name is Isobella, and I am currently completing my Honours thesis as part of my Bachelor of Biomedical Science, majoring in Genetics, Reproduction and Development. I have always had a strong interest in health, science and human development, and I really enjoy learning and sharing my knowledge with others. Alongside my studies, I have experience working with children as a swim instructor, teaching children aged 4–11 in both individual and group lessons. I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant at university, which has further developed my communication, organisation and ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently. These experiences have taught me how to adapt my approach to different learning styles and individual needs. I really enjoy helping others build their confidence and seeing the progress they make when they understand something they may have initially found challenging. I would love the opportunity to bring this experience into working with children, whether that is helping with homework, supporting learning or simply providing a positive and encouraging environment.
Health and fitness are also very important parts of my lifestyle, and I regularly go to the gym and enjoy staying active. Outside of university, I love cooking and baking and enjoy finding new recipes and creating meals for family and friends. I have always had a love for animals and especially enjoy spending time with my German Shepherd, Indie, who is a very special part of my family.
I am available for tutoring for NCEA Level 1-3 biology, chemistry and physics as well as NCEA Level 2 Calculus. I have a passion for cooking and baking and can easily accommodate food allergies and/or dietary requirements.
I would describe myself as friendly, approachable, reliable and responsible, and I look forward to bringing my experience and caring personality to Helpful Hands Central.
